BNV : দায়ূদ মনে মনে বললেন, “একদিন না একদিন শৌল আমাকে নিশ্চয়ই ধরবেন| সবচেয়ে ভাল হয় যদি আমি পলেষ্টীয়দের দেশে চলে যাই| তাহলে শৌল আমাকে ইস্রায়েলে খুঁজতে খুঁজতে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়বেন| এভাবে আমি শৌলের হাত থেকে বেরিয়ে আসতে পারবো|”
KJV : And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: [there is] nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
YLT : And David saith unto his heart, `Now am I consumed one day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing for me better than that I diligently escape unto the land of the Philistines, and Saul hath been despairing of me -- of seeking me any more in all the border of Israel, and I have escaped out of his hand.`
RV : And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
RSV : And David said in his heart, "I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines; then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand."
ASV : And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
ESV : Then David said in his heart, "Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand."
ERVEN : But David thought to himself, "Saul will catch me some day. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up looking for me in Israel. That way I will escape from Saul."

BNV : সুতরাং 600 জন পুরুষ নিয়ে দায়ূদ ইস্রায়েল ছেড়ে চলে গেলেন| তারা মাযোকের পুত্র আখীশের কাছে গেলেন| আখীশ তখন গাতের রাজা|
KJV : And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that [were] with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
YLT : And David riseth, and passeth over, he and six hundred men who [are] with him, unto Achish son of Maoch king of Gath;

ERVEN : So David and his 600 men left Israel and went to Achish son of Maoch. Achish was king of Gath.

BNV : দায়ূদ সপরিবারে তাঁর যুবকদের সঙ্গে গাতের আখীশের সঙ্গে থেকে গেলেন| দাযূদের সঙ্গে ছিল তাঁর দুই স্ত্রী| য়িষ্রিযেলের অহীনোযম আর কর্ম্মিলীয অবীগল| অবীগল নাবলের বিধবা পত্নী|
KJV : And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, [even] David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.
YLT : and David dwelleth with Achish in Gath, he and his men, each one with his household, [even] David and his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelitess.
RV : And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal-s wife.

ERVEN : David, his men, and their families lived in Gath with Achish. David had his two wives with him—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel. Abigail was the widow of Nabal.

BNV : সবাই শৌলকে বলল, দায়ূদ গাত্‌ দেশে পালিয়ে গেছে| তাই শৌল আর দায়ূদকে খুঁজলেন না|
KJV : And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.
YLT : And it is declared to Saul that David hath fled to Gath, and he hath not added any more to seek him.
RV : And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.
RSV : And when it was told Saul that David had fled to Gath, he sought for him no more.
ASV : And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.
ESV : And when it was told Saul that David had fled to Gath, he no longer sought him.
ERVEN : People told Saul that David had run away to Gath, so Saul stopped looking for him.

BNV : দায়ূদ আখীশকে বললেন, “আপনি যদি আমার ওপর প্রসন্ন হন, তবে আপনার যে কোন একটা শহরে আমাকে থাকতে দিন| আমি আপনার একজন ভৃত্য মাত্র| সেখানেই আমার উপযুক্ত জায়গা| এই রাজধানীতে আপনার কাছে থাকা আমার মানায না|”
KJV : And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
YLT : And David saith unto Achish, `If, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes, they give to me a place in one of the cities of the field, and I dwell there, yea, why doth thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?`
RV : And David said unto Achish, If now I have found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
RSV : Then David said to Achish, "If I have found favor in your eyes, let a place be given me in one of the country towns, that I may dwell there; for why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?"
ASV : And David said unto Achish, If now I have found favor in thine eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
ESV : Then David said to Achish, "If I have found favor in your eyes, let a place be given me in one of the country towns, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?"
ERVEN : David said to Achish, "If you are pleased with me, give me a place in one of the country towns. I am only your servant. I should live there, not here with you in this royal city."

BNV : সেদিন আখীশ দায়ূদকে সিক্লগ শহরে পাঠালেন| সেহেতু সিক্লগ আজ পর্য়ন্ত যিহূদা রাজাদের শহর হয়ে আছে|
KJV : Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.
YLT : And Achish giveth to him in that day Ziklag, therefore hath Ziklag been to the kings of Judah till this day.
RV : Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.

BNV : এক বছর চার মাস দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দের সঙ্গে ছিলেন|
KJV : And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.
YLT : And the number of the days which David hath dwelt in the field of the Philistines [is] days and four months;
RV : And the number of the days that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.
RSV : And the number of the days that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a year and four months.
ASV : And the number of the days that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

BNV : দায়ূদ এবং তাঁর সঙ্গীরা অমালেকীয়, গশূরীয, গির্ষীয অধিবাসীদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে গেলেন, যারা সেই মিশর পর্য়ন্ত শূরের কাছে টেলেম অঞ্চলে বাস করত| দাযূদের কাছে তারা পরাজিত হল| তাদের সব ধনসম্পদ দাযূদের হাতে গেলো|
KJV : And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those [nations were] of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
YLT : and David goeth up and his men, and they push unto the Geshurite, and the Gerizite, and the Amalekite, (for they are inhabitants of the land from of old), as thou comest in to Shur and unto the land of Egypt,
RV : And David and his men went up, and made a raid upon the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalekites: for those {cf15i nations} were the inhabitants of the land, which were of old, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
RSV : Now David and his men went up, and made raids upon the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites; for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.
ASV : And David and his men went up, and made a raid upon the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalekites; for those nations were the inhabitants of the land, who were of old, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
ESV : Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.
ERVEN : David and his men went to fight the Amalekites and Geshurites who lived in the area from Telem near Shur all the way to Egypt. David's men defeated them and took their wealth.

BNV : ঐ অঞ্চলের সকলকে হারিয়ে দায়ূদ তাদের মেষ, গরু, গাধা, উট, বস্ত্র সবকিছু নিয়ে আখীশের কাছে তুলে দিলেন| কিন্তু দায়ূদ এই লোকদের মধ্যে একজনকেও জীবিত রাখলেন না|
KJV : And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
YLT : and David hath smitten the land, and doth not keep alive man and woman, and hath taken sheep, and oxen, and asses, and camels, and garments, and turneth back, and cometh in unto Achish.
RV : And David smote the land, and saved neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel; and he returned, and came to Achish.
RSV : And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, but took away the sheep, the oxen, the asses, the camels, and the garments, and came back to Achish.
ASV : And David smote the land, and saved neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel; and he returned, and came to Achish.
ESV : And David would strike the land and would leave neither man nor woman alive, but would take away the sheep, the oxen, the donkeys, the camels, and the garments, and come back to Achish.
ERVEN : David defeated the people in that area. He took all their sheep, cattle, donkeys, camels, and clothes and brought them back to Achish. But David didn't let any of those people live.

BNV : এরকম লড়াই দায়ূদ অনেকবার করেছিলেন| প্রত্যেকবারই আখীশ দায়ূদকে জিজ্ঞাসা করতেন কোথায় সে যুদ্ধ করে এত সব জিনিস এনেছে| দায়ূদ বলতেন, “আমি যুদ্ধ করেছি এবং যিহূদার দক্ষিণ অঞ্চল জিতেছি|” অথবা “আমি যুদ্ধ করে য়িরহমীলের দক্ষিণ দিক জিতেছি,” অথবা বলতেন, “আমি কেনীয়দের দক্ষিণে লড়াই করে জিতেছি|”
KJV : And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
YLT : And Achish saith, `Whither have ye pushed to-day?` and David saith, `Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelite, and unto the south of the Kenite.`
RV : And Achish said, Whither have ye made a raid today? And David said, Against the South of Judah, and against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.
RSV : When Achish asked, "Against whom have you made a raid today?" David would say, "Against the Negeb of Judah," or "Against the Negeb of the Jerahmeelites," or, "Against the Negeb of the Kenites."
ASV : And Achish said, Against whom have ye made a raid to-day? And David said, Against the South of Judah, and against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.
ESV : When Achish asked, "Where have you made a raid today?" David would say, "Against the Negeb of Judah," or, "Against the Negeb of the Jerahmeelites," or, "Against the Negeb of the Kenites."
ERVEN : David did this many times. Each time Achish asked David where he fought and took those things. David said, "I fought against the southern part of Judah," or "I fought against the southern part of Jerahmeel," or "I fought against the southern part of the Kenizzites."

BNV : দায়ূদ গাতে কাউকেই জীবিত আনতেন না| তিনি ভাবলেন, “যদি আমরা কাউকে জীবিত রাখি তাহলে সে আখীশকে বলে দেবে আমি কি করেছি|”পলেষ্টীয়দের দেশে থাকার সময় দায়ূদ সব সময় এই ধরণের কাজ করতেন|
KJV : And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring [tidings] to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so [will be] his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
YLT : Neither man nor woman doth David keep alive, to bring in [word] to Gath, saying, `Lest they declare [it] against us, saying, Thus hath David done, and thus [is] his custom all the days that he hath dwelt in the fields of the Philistines.`
RV : And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring them to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying: So did David, and so hath been his manner all the while he hath dwelt in the country of the Philistines.
RSV : And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, thinking, "Lest they should tell about us, and say, `So David has done.'" Such was his custom all the while he dwelt in the country of the Philistines.
ASV : And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring them to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell of us, saying, So did David, and so hath been his manner all the while he hath dwelt in the country of the Philistines.
ESV : And David would leave neither man nor woman alive to bring news to Gath, thinking, "Lest they should tell about us and say, 'So David has done.'"Such was his custom all the while he lived in the country of the Philistines.
ERVEN : David never brought a man or woman alive to Gath. He thought, "If we let anyone live, they might tell Achish what I really did." David did this all the time he lived in the Philistine land.

BNV : আখীশ দায়ূদকে বিশ্বাস করতে শুরু করেছিলেন| আখীশ মনে মনে বলতেন, “নিজের লোকরাই এখন দায়ূদকে ঘৃণা করছে| ইস্রায়েলীয়রা তাকে একেবারেই দেখতে পারে না| এখন থেকে চিরদিন দায়ূদ আমার সেবা করবে|”
KJV : And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
YLT : And Achish believeth in David, saying, `He hath made himself utterly abhorred among his people, in Israel, and hath been to me for a servant age-during.`
RV : And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
RSV : And Achish trusted David, thinking, "He has made himself utterly abhorred by his people Israel; therefore he shall be my servant always."
ASV : And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
ESV : And Achish trusted David, thinking, "He has made himself an utter stench to his people Israel; therefore he shall always be my servant."
ERVEN : Achish began to trust David and said to himself, "Now David's own people hate him. The Israelites hate him very much. Now he will serve me forever."
